Living our Faith through Service

Service Activities
Our Lady of Lourdes service activities focus on the nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit: Love, Joy, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, and Self-Control.

Staff service committee members plan projects and activities designed to include a combination of school-wide on-campus activities, individual class activities, and off-campus projects to expose students to hands-on
volunteer work in the community. Ideally, a school-wide, on-campus project will be paired with an off-campus activity such as a food/clothing drive for Saint Vincent De Paul combined with a visit to the SVDP facility to help sort clothing. Student Council supports service activities with assemblies to explain the need for the activity and get students excited to participate.

Individual classes also do their own service projects.

Recent examples of service activities include:

School Wide:
Valentines cards made for elderly citizens living in a local assisted living facility combined with an after school visit to the facility to distribute cards and get to know the people.
Collecting cans for the benefit of the Humane Society followed by a visit to the facility.
Campus Cleanup
Neighborhood Yard Cleanup

Individual Classes:

Operation Turkey Sandwich for Share House
A Cocoa Sale for a Haiti Orphanage
