Learning spanish
Learning a world language is an exciting venture for students that provides important academic skills and cultural understanding. Classes in the primary grades focus on vocabulary and common phrases used in class or in an everyday conversation. As students progress through the grades, basic grammar is integrated. In middle school, students begin to put all the individual threads into a tapestry as a foundation of their developing language mastery, preparing them for high school and advanced classes. Every class period they listen to, speak, read and write in Spanish. Latino culture and history is an important part of class. Students enjoy the classes and find it enriching.
cultural awareness
To honor the diversity that God has created, the Spanish program at Lourdes promotes global communication and cultural awareness within a faith-based environment, developing the next generation of servant leaders in Christ.
